The Worshipful Company of Butchers and City Livery Events

We hope you will join us at Butchers' Hall on Friday 6th December for our final Court Lunch of the year, when the guest speaker will be our fellow Liveryman Rod Adlington, who rose to the challenged and rowed 3200 miles across the Atlantic Ocean from Lanzarote to Antigua, in Jan and Feb of this year.

As a mixed crew of 4 they have completed an event called The Atlantic Dash, one of the, if not the, world’s toughest endurance event. The event was entered to commenorate what would have been Rod’s sons 21st birthday, Barney sadly passed away from Meningitis when he was three and half. Rod and Guy along with their fellow crewmates Anna Williams and Alex Perry. Despite some pretty horrendous weather, they managed to win the event, coming in 10 days in front of the second boat and beating the course record by 16 days in a final time of 52 days, 18 hours , and 4 minutes. 

The event was a great success, and with their wonderful sponsors they managed to raise £150k for their two chosen charities, Meningitis Now and Get A Head, head and neck cancer charity. Come and hear more about this epic adventure. 

The price of the lunch is £105 per person, inc VAT which includes drinks reception, a three-course lunch with wine, and a Stirrup Cup.
