A Christmas message from The Master

Christmas is a very special time of year when families come together to share the most precious of times.

The Master

As 2024 closes, I have reflected on what an incredible first three months I have experienced and enjoyed serving the Livery.

There have been so many wonderful City occasions but our own events have been the most memorable highlights by far; a Livery Carol service, a very moving Remembrance Sunday, our wonderful Court lunches and not forgetting the Christmas Lunches – fellowship at its very best!

Our Livery has endured a few challenging years and whilst we are by no means out of the woods, we are on track financially to be at break even by the end of this year. This is a considerable turnaround and has only been possible thanks to the dedicated commitment of the Court and the overwhelming support of Liverymen and Corporate Partners. I would like to extend my personal thanks to all, including the WCB office team, who have gone the extra mile. We remain optimistic about 2025 and the future of our proud and ancient Livery.

Please continue to support your Company by enjoying as many events as you can and getting involved in our endeavours. Plans are already underway for next year’s events, including the traditional Boars Head on Tuesday 25 March and The Masters Fundraising Dinner on Friday 13th June, which will be held at the stunning venue Drapers Hall.

I wish you and your families all the very best for Christmas and a happy new year!
