Please see this copy of a Statement, signed by me, relating to Jeff Mason's retirement.
This is an agreed statement and I'm sure we all fully concur with the comments I've made and thank Jeff for his unstinting efforts.
"I am writing to let you know that Major General Jeff Mason has decided to retire from The Clerk's position at The Worshipful Company of Butchers. Jeff will be leaving his post on 30 November 2023 in order to concentrate on his significant Charity work and to have more quality time with his family.
The Company is hugely grateful for Jeff's significant and unparalleled contribution to the life of the Butchers' Company over the last nine years.
Leading the hugely successful and significant refurbishment of the Hall into a state of the art, modern venue in the City of London as well as managing most effectively the extremely difficult issues connected with Covid and its many after effects have been two of the most challenging aspects of his period as CEO.
Members of the Court of the Worshipful Company of Butchers and Past Masters join me in thanking Jeff for his contribution and unstinting effort.
We all wish him well for the future."
