The fourth virtual Court Meeting, using the Zoom platform, saw four new Freemen admitted to the Company.
Following last month’s successful, inaugural virtual process, the new Freemen,Tim Gray, David Lindars, Robin Rolls and Andrew Parsons, each with a long established and successful career in the meat industry, were proposed by a Liveryman, seconded by a Member of Court before being interviewed by Court Members and, upon acceptance, swore their allegiance to the Company.
Such is the breadth and diversity of our industry that the prospective Liverymen, specialists in different parts, were united in their love and respect for the industry and a desire to “put something back.”
The next stage is for our new Freemen to visit the Chamberlain’s office, in Guildhall, upon reopening, to receive their Freedom of the City of London certificates before being clothed, in due course, at a formal ceremony at Butchers’ Hall and 'taking wine with the Master'.
With these candidates joining other newly admitted Freemen to become Liverymen the occasion at Butchers’ Hall will certainly be one to witness.
We’ll keep you posted.
