Join the Butchers as they run the river 'virtually' for Teach First

Published on: 24 July 2020

Teach First is a charity we have supported for a number of years and have participated actively in one of their major fundraising activities, 'Run the River'. WCB with a team of runners / walkers has always enjoyed a light hearted, fun evening with some exercise as an added bonus!

All funds raised support Teach First’s vital work building a fair education for all.

This September, for obvious social distancing reasons, the event will be entirely virtual. Running or walking 5km or 10km, anywhere in the world, in the week between 7th - 13th September, participants will be encouraged to log their time on Teach First’s virtual leader board. All those registered will receive a technical running t-shirt, by post, to wear on the run as well as a medal once the challenge is completed.

Some members of the Livery, together with friends, have already signed up and so can you by logging in at teachfirst.org.uk/events/run-the-river

Sign up solo or as a member of our Worshipful Company of Butchers team (password is Horseradish).

As it’s a virtual event you can run, or walk wherever you want, individually or in groups.

The exercise will be good, it’s helping a great charity... what are you waiting for?

Please contact Liveryman, Gerald Shortland if you need further information, and do let him know if you’re participating and join his WhatsApp group.
