Nobody was more surprised than The Deputy Clerk to be nominated as a potential winner of a Meat Businesswoman Award for a Trade Body at the Women in Meat Awards 2022, but with huge support, she only went and won it!!
The Women in Meat Awards is an annual event, organised by Meat Management, that recognises outstanding female talent from our industry. There are 12 categories and all prospective winners are nominated.
This year, Carla Ashcroft (our Deputy Clerk) was nominated for Meat Businesswoman of the Year Award in the Trade Body category.
The sparkling ceremony was held on Friday 11th November at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington. Overlooking Hyde Park, it is a stunning venue for a very prestigious night. With over 14,000 votes counted for the finalists, there were no guarantees.
However, we all know that there is no-one more worthy of the win. Carla was joined by many Liverymen in the room and received rapturous applause, with a standing ovation from the WCB table, when her name was called as a winner of her category!
After her win, Carla said "I am humbled to have been nominated and am so grateful to all Liverymen and friends that took the time to vote for me, it really means a lot. Thank you."
Liveryman Pam Brook speaks for us all when she says "Richly deserved. Thank you for all you do above and beyond".
Congratulations from us all Carla.
