The Young Butchers’ Club, a developing aspect of the Livery, held its first online webinar recently. Utilising the internet, and a Webinar platform Liveryman Dr. Claire White, a Specialist Veterinary Operations Manager at Bristol University shared career advice and a range of other topics designed to aid personal development, enabling members to listen, engage and participate.

Supporting future generations of our industry is key and this latest opportunity for members of the Young Butchers’ Club was warmly received by those taking part. Membership of the YBC not only allows young people to form useful networking opportunities, it also opens up doors to valuable contacts.

Liveryman, Claire White talked to attendees about specific early career development challenges and opportunities, sharing advice on aspects of personal development, making contacts and identifying future opportunities. Realistic goal setting, training, personal growth and motivation were identified during the webinar as key aspects of a successful career.

Lucinda Baker, President of the Young Butchers’ Club said: “We were very fortunate to hear from Claire, herself a young Liveryman, who has already had such an interesting and varied career.

“Being a part of the YBC gives you access to such a diverse range of people and brilliant networking opportunities.”
